Core Services of Northeast Tennessee is licensed by the State of Tennessee Department of Health and Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
Core Services of Northeast Tennessee holds 4-year Person Centered Excellence Accreditation through CQL|The Council on Quality and Leadership. Core Services of Northeast Tennessee was a 2017 recipient of CQL “Award of Excellence”, an award recognizing innovative and emerging practices in the achievement of outcomes for persons with disabilities. The agency has completed Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities requirements for designation as a PERSON CENTERED ORGANIZATION.
Core Services of Northeast Tennessee receives funding primarily through the State of Tennessee-Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, TennCare-Home and Community Based Waiver, Department of Finance and Administration.
The State of Tennessee matches by a percentage funding formula administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), for services administered in the community. These are referred to as Home and Community Based Medicaid Waiver. Some services are provided with 100% state dollars.
Core Services has a volunteer Board of Directors, representing a varied degree of backgrounds, some as business leaders, some as parents and also represented by a service recipient. The Board meets quarterly, the third Monday of the month, July, October, January, and April. Board meetings are open to the public. The board members serve a three (3) year term and may serve a second consecutive three (3) year term before they must come off for one (1) year.
